Captain (GA Ground Forces)

The rank of a ground forces Captain is a rank above Lieutenant and below Major in the GA Military Ground Forces. This rank is the second highest of the so-called "command ranks". The rank of a ground forces Captain differs from its' fleet counterpart a bit, since there's a considerably smaller amount of Captains in the Ground Forces overall. Quite often Captains are in command of battalions or companies, batteries or troop formations. Captains can also serve in administrative positions.

A ground forces Captain is not qualified to act as a fleet captain without the undertaking of a special course in starship command and space combat.
