Alnitak or Zeta Orionis is a system of three great blue stars. The biggest, Alnitak Aa has a surface temperature of 40 000 K and is one of the brightest O-class stars in the Galaxy.
A dim fourth star is next to the triplet. Whether this is part of the Alnitak system is uncertain.
