The Boston class is a ship design of the Hephaestus Republic. The ship was constructed after both wars of Hephaestan independence, and the construction was done in the Riletian Shipyards. The Hephaestus Republic did not possess the needed facilities for a project of this kind, and since the aid from the DHR made such a large-scale construction project possible elsewhere, it was agreed upon in the republic.

The Boston class is a very modern design, incorporating an anti-matter reactor to power up its' engines and general powergrid. It also includes a GA military-grade Nexus Drive component, which has most likely been stolen from the GA and then been expanded and modified upon by the Riletians. The Boston class also includes two bridges, with the auxiliary bridge being activated in case the primary ones is rated inoperable.

The first and only Boston class constructed so far has been the Rebel Yell. It has been designated as the flagship of the Hephaestan defence fleet, and in a recent simulated goodwill exercise between the republic and the Gigerdi Alliance, the Boston class could easily take up several smaller carrier groups, and destroy them.
Additionally it can be said that the Boston class is an immense project to undertake both in terms of resources and time of construction. It is most likely that the Hephaestus Republic cannot afford to produce very many ships of this class and design, but despite it, even one of these vessels will greatly boost the defensive capabilities of the small renegade republic.
