Bridge

Command center of a starship, the bridge is where the command crew resides, and the location on board from which the conning officer gives commands to the helm.

Almost every starship has a bridge or a duty station of some sort, although remote control and/or artificial intelligence piloting is an option in many modern vessels. A starship may also have an auxiliary bridge.

In ships with only one crew, the captain serves all duties and runs the entire ship from the bridge. In larger ships, the duty stations that control various functions (such as sensors or weapons) may be within the bridge, scattered throughout the ship, or both.
