Chemical plant
From Peace Station Encyclopedia
Jump to navigationJump to searchA chemical plant is a complex for the industrial output of chemical elements.
Because of danger to life forms and delicate ecosystems, chemical plants are usually located in special industrial zones or even in orbital facilities. Many chemical plants include or incorporate nanoscale components to enable synthesis of unusual or non-naturally occuring sustances. Regulations for the establishment and running of a chemical plant differ widely according to planetary regulations, plant design, environmental impact, process optimization, heat output and heat and mass transfer, pollution control and toxicity or not of the manufactured products. Most chemical plants involve numerous safety features.
