Jump to navigationJump to searchMoon of Saturn, composed mostly of water-ice. At just 116 km across, the satellite is slightly smaller than its companion moon, Janus, which orbits at much the same distance from Saturn. Epimetheus sometimes orbits Saturn in front of Janus, but sometimes behind.
Looking not unlike a large lump of cheese, Epimetheus sports many craters. One large impact site is known as Hilairea, and appears as a deep hole with a diameter of about 33 km.
