Fomalhaut system
From Peace Station Encyclopedia
Jump to navigationJump to searchThe Fomalhaut system is a young system with a protoplanetary ring. As the star matures, its powerful solar wind kicks in, blowing out all the remaining dust and gas that helped form the planets. In the case of Fomalhaut, this ring is elliptical, with the parent star off to one side. This is a result of the elliptical orbit of the small gas giant in the system.
