The Gigerdi Mk. IV strike cruiser is the next essential upgrade to the Gigerdi-class cruisers. Designed by the Tiamat Spaceyards, this cruiser has been designed for quick strike capabilities. It has been given considerable speed, weapon and reactor upgrades. The designers have also hinted, that a certain amount of the cruisers will be constructed and equipped differently with various special duties kept in mind - thus meaning that there may be several different lines of the Mk. IV design coming out. Naturally the designers along with the GA Military Joint Chiefs of Staff have confirmed that the Mk.IV model will also be replacing the Gigerdi Mk. III class heavy cruisers sometime in the future. The Mk.IV will also be sligtly smaller and more sleek in design when compared to its "older brother".

The Mk.IV strike cruiser has also been incorporated with a revolutionary new reactor type, which according to rumours is able to generate more power with less space and resources needed. The Mk.IV has also been included with the same bio-organic hull design present in the Valencia classes. Currently only a few dozen prototypes have been built, and thus the final design with its capabilities is quite open for debate.
