Great Thinkers

The Great Thinkers are a highly respected group of Hemmoian philosophers. Outsiders are still not entirely certain whether they are celebrated by Hemmoians all over the galaxy because of their writings, most of which appear downright unintelligible to non-Hemmoians, or simply the incredible size of their heads, which are indeed quite big. Huge, even. Gigantic, some might say.

Either way, the Thinkers remain popular icons of Hemmoian society year after year. At the end of every Hemmoian year, a grand event called the Celebration of the Thinkers is held at the Temple of the Thinkers on Aldaain. During this celebration that lasts for days, Hemmoians from all over the galaxy compete in various mental exercises, displaying their vast intellect. These competitions are often related to computer technology, philosophy, literature, or mathematics. The winners are granted audience with the Thinkers themselves.

Around the fifth year of the Peace Station Project, a special IHSF vessel was designed for the personal use of the Thinkers, known as the IHSF Suuri Ajattelija. This starship was a newly commissioned Black Hole class carrier, heavily modified and painted red.

The SID, an ancient semi-mythological philosopher on Orceron, has sometimes been called "the first of the Great Thinkers," although this connection is probably artificial.
