The K-date, also known as a Hemmoian year, is the standard measure of time in the Delta Quadrant, in particular the Hemmoian Federation. The Hemmoian year is part of the HFed Standard Time specification.

Each year is composed of 10 rotations, each composing 10 cycles, calculated from the equatorial time zone of Aldaain. Each cycle is further divided into ten epicycles, bringing the total amount of segments (or dates) in a standard Hemmoian year to 1000. This is why the year is sometimes referred to as the kilo stardate, or k-date.

Comparison to other units

The k-date is somewhat shorter than the "standard year" in use in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. Each HFed year is approximately 0,7143 Earth years, or 260,7143 standard days.
