The Ho'kan Empire was a nation of Hemmoians that originated on ancient Orceron. The Ho'kans were a separatist, nationalistic culture that opposed the formation of the Hemmoian Unity and the proto-collectivist teachings of Ommek Hu. When the Hemmoian Unity was officially founded, the Ho'kans declared a war to "liberate the Hemmoian continent from the decaying filth of the collectivists". The subsequent conflicts are known as the Hemmo Wars.

History

The Hemmo Wars

Main article: Hemmo Wars

The Hemmo Wars killed almost a billion beings from both sides in what was generally regarded as one of the darkest hours in Orceronian history.

Aftermath

The war eventually ended as the Ho'kans were forced to retreat to another planet in the Orceronian solar system, called Xalan, where they rebuilt their nation under Emperor Tx'renath.

Despite the cessation of hostilities forced by distance, the war never officially ended and no treaties were signed as the bitter hatred between the two civilizations remained.

Continuation

The deadly legacy of the Hemmo Wars finally caught up with the peoples of Orceron when the Ho'kans detonated a Planet Killer device on the surface of the world. The entire surface of Orceron was incinerated in the horrific event, later referred to as the Great Cataclysm of Orceron, or simply the Great Destruction.

Transformation

As refugees from Orceron formed the Home Fleet and fled to interstellar space, the Ho'kan Empire was free to conquer the rest of the First Star system. They soon established outposts on all planets within the system, as well as another nearby solar system, then another. Emperor Ho'run ruled at this time.

With the founding of the V3 Alliance, the seat of the government was eventually moved to the Vorek system, beyond the Vorek Nebula. Ho'run's rule was ended by the unified force of Hortius.

Ideology

The Ho'kan Empire's ideals emphasized the superiority of the Ho'kans, a strong military, and total commitment to the Ho'kan government. The military was above all the most prized element of the Ho'kan Empire. The vast majority of the Eempire resources were spent on the military-industrial projects, leaving very little for the average Ho'kan civilian's well-being.
