Jerdie

The Jerdiens are a tree-like species from the Alpha quadrant. Their name in their native tongue is more similar to ...:..::.:::, however, as it can't be pronounced the name Jerdie was conceived.

Anatomy

Jerdiens are a tree-species. They can grow as tall as 120 meters and can walk by using their roots, use their branches as similar to hands, communicate with each other and think like a sentient species. Due to their potential large size only smaller trees are sent on diplomatic missions or in spaces where the larger ones can't move. They consume energy by using their roots and prefer to use actual soil rather than artificial substances. They produce energy by the use of photosynthesis so they require light to produce energy.
