Jump to navigationJump to searchA multiple star system, NGC 2017 is also designated an open star cluster. The stars in this small open cluster are all gravitationally bound to each other and are a well-studied source of both radio and infrared emissions. NGC 2017 produces a dense wind from a thin H II region hidden within it, which may be from a loose dostribution of gas and dust.
