NGC 3198

A luminous spiral galaxy of type Sc(s)I–II, NGC 3198 has a bright core surrounded by an elliptical halo. The galaxy is approximately 14.5 Mpc distant. It has been observed extensively in H I for detailed studies of galaxy rotation curves.
