NODE-1

The lead exploration and reconnaissance vessel of the NODE Fleet, NODE-1 was the first and most important starship for Project NODE. Equipped with the most advanced propulsion systems known to UO science at the time of the Great Cataclysm of Orceron and commanded by the valiant Erk the Orc, NODE-1 visited many star systems in the Orbeus cluster prospecting for a planet that could sustain a viable colony.

Operational history

Discovering Aldaain

The starship made history as the first vessel to enter the orbit of Aldaain, newly discovered in the Orbeus 6 system, but did not touch down on the surface. Instead, a thorough scientific survey was performed from orbit, including geological, atmospheric, magnetospheric and biological scans, which found the planet suitable, if not perfect, for colonization purposes. Several of the planet's moons were also briefly observed.

After the initial survey phase, the data was sent back to the Home Fleet. The starship continued its exploration mission with the rest of NODE. A better candidate was not found, however, and Aldaain was eventually chosen for settlement.

Decommissioning

The starship was later decommissioned and transported to the surface of Aldaain, where it became a celebrated museum piece.
