The Oktoberfest class light science ships were standard, but small science ships used by the Gigerdi Federation in its early days of exploring the Alpha Quadrant and Beta Quadrant. The ship used a mixture of Hyperdrive and Warp Drive as its FTL drive and jump drive. There weren’t many of these things made and most of them vanished without a trace into a distant worlds. The most fondly remembered Oktoberfest class science ship was the G.F.S. Kaljapullo. It is not fully known how the design, and its name, came to be, but it has been theorized that the design was made when a team of Gigerdian ship designers were visiting an Oktoberfest on Earth.
Most of the Oktoberfests were decommissioned after the first contact with the United Orcs.
