Quantum Reactor
From Peace Station Encyclopedia
Jump to navigationJump to searchThe standard issue power plant on most modern HFed / Delta Quadrant vessels, the Quantum Reactor harvests so-called "zero-point energy" from the very fabric of time and space. As such, the fuel will never run out in itself, but controlling and keeping up the energy extraction process requires secondary power plants which need their own fuels.
The typical modern choice for secondary power plants is an efficient antimatter reactor, although fusion plants have occasionally been used as well.
