Solar systems

A solar system is a galactic body comprised of one or more stars (suns) and a group of planets and other bodies that orbit around it.

Typical solar systems are light-years apart from each other. Because of the great distances involved, travel between them would not be possible if not for the use of FTL propulsion systems.

Solar systems are also known as star systems or simply systems.

Restricted systems

A system that a government has designated as an area that unauthorized ships should not enter. Most automated navigation systems will not compute a path which takes them through any restricted systems.

For a list of such systems, see this category.
