Subspatial boundary

Not to be confused with the underspatial boundary, the subspatial boundary separates the fabric of subspace from the rest of our local time-space continuum. Unlike the tachyonic boundary, the subspatial boundary is relatively easy to break once the concepts of subspace physics are understood; this is why the use of subspace for FTL communications and travel is abundant among Milky Way civilizations.

Although the use of interdimensional travel is significantly faster, it drains exponentially larger amounts of energy.
