Talk:Quark

Should we make up even smaller particles than quarks? Considering that there may exist, and probably do, smaller particles than quarks.

while I have nothing against theoretical physics if it goes to explain the gonzotech we have in this universe, I don't believe I've heard anything about sub-quark particles myself. (of course, most of the literature I've read on this subject is from the eighties.) Just making shit up for the hell of it doesn't seem very productive when it comes to physics, but if you can find some article that predicts the properties of these particles with some accuracy, sure, why not.

Actually I was wrong, see the article preon star. This does mention preons as being sub-quark particles that also compose leptons. I haven't done any research on that but I will in due time.

As far as I know, from what I studied in lukio in the modern physics, it's not yet known if there are smaller particles than quarks, but it believed that there might be. I'm not sure then has there actually been any progress on that field as the info is from the nineties. If there really isn't anything yet we can of course just explain that they are comprised of some smaller particles, but leave it at that. If there actually is some smaller ones already discovered then we can use them of course.
