UOA-5

The UOA-5 was a reusable single-person spacecraft developed on Orceron. It was boosted into space by a launch vehicle or a Launch Tube, then re-entered planetary atmosphere, landing as a spaceplane. The UOA-5 was developed at the Hemmo Academy and operated by the United Orcs Army for orbital spaceflight missions, but could also be utilized for personal atmospheric transportation.

Development

An early goal for the program was for the UOA-5 to rendezvous with satellites and perform repairs. In the future it could have also been used as a spy satellite, a space based weapons platform, or an orbital dropship, but development was ended abruptly by the Great Cataclysm of Orceron.

Legacy

Although the UOA-5 was never widely used, the technical development behind the project could be seen in later UO starfighter designs. The civilian Blue Lightning craft was also based on the technology of this spaceplane.
