Vela Supernova Remnant

Jump to navigationJump to searchThe Vela supernova remnant (also called Gum 16) is a remnant of a supernova explosion that took place approximately 11,000-12,300 standard years ago. The supernova remnant is associated with the Vela pulsar.
The Vela supernova remnant includes NGC 2736. It is a bright source of X-ray light.
