The Collector class mining station was the brainchild of Kyle Gigerdi. Just as he had formed the new state of Gigerdi Confederation, the mineral Dragonium was discovered from the at that time unknown Texian border. The G-Confed realized that they would have an edge if they could control this new natural resource, so a new kind of a station was constructed to retrieve it for processing.

The Collector station was pretty huge, but most of the space was taken up by mining equipment, leaving little space for fighters of any kind. The bridge was situated at the front, and the main reactor was situated at the back along with the quarters and re-creational areas. It had some defences, but these proved underpowered against concentrated attack; The one constructed Collector station was sabotaged and destroyed just a few days after it was brought on-line by the infamous pirate leader Gevu-gee.
