The cult known as the "followers of Krohl" is a pseudo-religious cult originating from the Texian space. The first followers of this cult were of course Texians , but as the Gigerdi Confederation made first contact with the Texians this particular "religion" spread into the Alpha and Beta quadrants through trade-routes.

Currently the cult has, according to its records, over 7 million followers. It has not gained much popularity among races that have formed themselves into a collective; such races find the teachings of the Texian prophet "Krohl" extremely unbelievable. Several species that have a strong internal system of religion have outlawed the followers of Krohl as blasphemy.

The whole religion centers around the idea that the whole universe was born out of an egg hatched by Krohl, the Texian prophet. Krohl, according to the cult, was "the first of the first and the last of the last". Krohl's teachings also state that the universe itself is an egg and the inhabitants itself are just small pieces of the shell falling through life to the end, known as "the ground". In order to have a soft fall to the "ground", one must pay alms to the church of Krohl through his or her entire life; if the correct amount of alms are not paid at the designated time the initial fall to the "ground" will be a harsh one and the individual life will shatter and not reach the afterlife. The priests of the cult are the ones who demand the tributary alms from their followers.

The headquarters of this particular religion are situated in Texian space. The planet of Vaticanius X serves as the site of the main temple.
