History of the Timocracy

The Timocracy was founded by four different races after they had arrived to the Milky Way galaxy.

Colonization task force

The roots of the Timocracy are in an another galaxy, with Andromeda galaxy suspected as the source. It is believed that in the Andromeda galaxy a number of different races were unified together, among these the Mentrar, Klempê, Ogl73-,. and Klerg, as well as some minor species. It is believed that other, more major, races were also residing in the Andromeda galaxy. Nevertheless, it is thought that possibly a group of Mentrars wanted to send out a colonization force to the Milky Way galaxy as it was believed to be their long lost ancient home.

These legends tell of a possible war or maybe a plague that had ravaged the once flourished society. As a last resort few colony ships ships with sleeper capabilities were built or prepared for journey. The goal was to move some of the remaining people to the other side of the current galaxy. Once the ships were sent of to the journey and the crew in hibernation the lead ship veered off course and was followed by the other ships. It is suspected that there was either sabotage, technical malfunction or a navigational error that caused this. After a long journey the ships finally arrived in the Andromeda galaxy and miraculously had managed to keep most of the hibernating populace alive. The first habitable planet was chosen as the new homeworld. Unfortunately the long journey had damaged to computer cores of all the ships severely which prevented the use of their databases. Not much records were later written of their past lives as the survivors wanted to forget their past and thus over the generations there has been a lot of speculation of their true origins.

However, eventually these legends were resurfaced and enough popular support gained for the colonization task force. Other races decided to accompany the trip as well, either to provide protection or just for the experience. Special intergalactic ships were built with more powerful FTL engines than on normal ships to enable a much faster trip than in the early days. Eventually they set out to their journey that would take years or perhaps even decades.

Arrival

Eventually the ships arrived in the Milky Way galaxy and in the alpha quadrant to be precise. Several systems were quickly colonized and shipyards as well as other construction and infrastructure was soon in place. As they were isolated from their home group from the Andromeda galaxy they decided to form a new form of government. The people who organized the expedition wanted to remain in power and to select only those who they considered worthy. Because of this a government form of timocracy was established.

Over time their area of influence grew and population increased. It is believed that at least some of the races involved used additional methods to increase population like cloning or incubation facilities. Nevertheless, the Timocracy slowly kept expanding while still maintaining contact to the Andromeda galaxy. The Timocracy functioned as a completely independent state although there was exchange of technology and supplies occasionally. This was difficult due to the extreme distance though. Over time the Timocracy grew more distant from their Andromeda roots as far as society was concerned, but they still considered good relations to their cousins in the Andromeda to be beneficial and important. It is believed that the Timocracy encountered and absorbed some smaller species as well, but it is not clear on which of the minor races actually were found in the Milky Way and which joined them on their journey.

The Timocracy has also constantly sent out expeditions to the nearby uncharted systems to search for their possible long lost home(s), but so far no clues have been found.
