The Air Armor was an ultraheavy fighter/bomber aircraft used by the Ho'kan Empire during the Hemmo Wars. The special aircraft was encased in extremely thick armor making it virtually impervious to enemy fire, including anti-aircraft repeaters, which made it a fearsome foe to the Hemmoian Unity's forces.

The heavy armor plating had its downsides; the aircraft was extremely cumbersome to fly and maneuvering required great skill. This was not a problem, however, as the Air Armor was a special vehicle used only by the Imperial Order of Air Knighthood, the Empire's most esteemed pilot corps, who were used to handling the beast with ease.

Due to the Air Knights' rigid honor code, the aircraft was not equipped with ejection seats or parachutes - Failure in the battlefield meant death. Even if the pilot survived a crash landing, there would have been no way for him to open the heavy cockpit hatch by himself; special cranes were used for this purpose at Ho'kan airbases. The code of the Order required pilots who were trapped in this manner to commit suicide to avoid capture and dishonor - a special ritual dagger was included in the cockpit for this purpose.

A gigantic turbojet engine was required to keep the craft in air. Unity soldiers on the ground would often hear the menacing roar of an approaching Air Knight squadron long before they could actually see them, striking fear into their hearts and minds.
