A planet in the Kepler-10 system, Kepler-10 b is a large rocky world with a density of nearly 9 grams per cubic cm.

The planet is likely mostly composed of dense metallic elements, such as iron and nickel, with only small amounts of "rock". Kepler-10b is so close to its star that it orbits in less than one standard day. At such a close distance the planet is tidally locked to its sun, with one side permanently facing the star. It is probable that the daytime side is mostly, if not all molten.
