The Ravencroft was the idea of a defected ship designer, Gerlus Devook. He designed the Ravencroft for Kyle Gigerdi's side of the faction as an orbital assault ship. The ship used a Drop Pod system, where the ship could drop pods full of troops on the planet. Although the idea seemed good at first, the result was far from good.

Sometimes, the pods would malfunction due to the planet’s ionised atmosphere and stop the landing buffers completely to a deadly drop. Some of the Timocracy colony worlds were invaded this way, but with heavy-non combat casualties.

The Ravencrofts had some defensive mechanisms in them but they were mostly useless in combat. The ship used [[Warp Drive]] as its main FTL drive system. All of the Ravencrofts were supposed to be dismantled when the GA was created, but some of the Texian sector arms dealers seem to have a couple of these for sale in the black markets all over the galaxy.
