Some more detailed Bacterian history wouldn't be bad at all. And isn't a wormhole better than a singularity?

Any chance to get the MediaWiki updated? It would also be good if both PSE and A would have the same version, as now PSA has slightly different configuration.

wormholes / singularities

from what I understand, creating a wormhole is a pretty gravity intensive thing to do so yeah you'd need some sort of a gravitational singularity for them to happen probably ...

as for the wiki software I don't really know, zet would probably know better

I think creating wormholes is pretty theoretical at this point, since they haven't been fully proven, neither black holes for that matter. I guess this all also depends on Namgron, as to what's his opinion.

it obviously is, but at least wormholes are grounded in relativity unlike regular FTL travel which isn't even a theory! so if you want to get technical wormholes are more realistic than the common drives in every PS starship. still, it's mostly nonsense but if you allow the First Ones to be extragalactic there obviously needs to be some sort of a transport mechanism

The distances between galaxies ain't that great really. The distance to Andromda is 2.5 MLy, which is about 25x the distance from one end of Milky to another. It's all about the speed of the FTL drives and the first ones should have many times faster FTL drives than the other species. Post-PS speeds at least used to be very fast, but I'm not sure is that official anymore.

I guess we need to decide whether to include any wormholes or not.

yeah, the TWDPS drive was originally supposed to be "near-instantaneous" and capable of reaching other galaxies in a matter of months but if you think about it that really reduces the drama from a setting. whatever the problem on a distant planet, you can always send a million ships there immediately and it kills a lot of intensity. so I'm voting against superfast FTL, yes for wormholes (and/or whatever inexplicable spatial anomaly it is that allows transport) see also Category:Wormholes

The bacterian Gates could be Kerr singularities with ring geometry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ring_singularity#Traversability_and_nakedness
