The Tiedemies class science vessel was launched from the dock right after the Beta Quadrant Conflict. After the disasters of the Exploreison Project and the Exploreison mk2 project the G-Alliance government felt that it finally needed a ship capable of really exploring worlds and space anomalies and not discovering things which were already discovered.
The Tiedemies-class has got the Nexus drive as the Jump Drive and a gravimetric drive as the sub-light propsys. The Tiedemies also uses an experimental Plasma Reactor which was included by the G-Alliance military R&D. The Tiedemies has some weapons too, so it can finally defend itself without the help of other ships or fighters.
The ship has a very little crew amount because of its size. During its maiden voyage the Tiedemies helped the Mechanoids to repair an old GA subspace station in the Mechanoid territories, in the Gigerdian year 3364.
