Berlan Wormhole

The Berlan Wormhole is located in the Goera system. Protector Station 25 was built to protect this wormhole as it possessed enormous strategical value, especially during the Timocracy war.

The wormhole took from the United Commonwealth of Planets space to near the center of Timocracy space, thus provided an excellent way to move forces to and from the Timocracy territories. It was also used as a diversion point when the real attack was made on the border. The wormhole's Protector Station was attacked several times and the entrance to the wormhole was also mined on numerous occasions.

The reason the anomaly is called the Berlan wormhole is because it was the Berlans who first found it, several hundreds years ago prior to making contact with the UCP. The first UCP ship to actually enter it did so only five years before the Timocracy War broke out.

As FTL drive systems have advanced, the use of the wormhole has diminished after the Timocracy war. It no longer has any significant use except to provide somewhat faster route from the other end of UCP space to the other.
