The Cheyenne class is a modified Confederal class medium attack destroyer with long range missile attack capabilities. It was modified with the help of renegade GA government engineers, and was used as a front line attack ship by the Hephaestus Republic during its' both wars of independence. Although the shields of the vessel are still quite old, it could stand its' ground during combat at that time period. It was first used to fight against the GA forces attempting to invade Hephaestus back, but just hours later President Dalleer granted Hephaestus independence.
After the wars of Independence, the Cheynne-class was recognised for what it had truly always been: a quick field modification of a surely outdated and foremost patched-together design in the first place. Luckily only a few of these Cheynne class vessels were ever produced, and thus it was easy to mothball them. Thus the Cheyenne class is not in active service anymore, but they still remain mothballed in one of the reserve yards of the Hephaestan home system.
