Codebreaker Device

An extremely powerful paraller computing device constructed by the Mechanoid Unity, the Codebreaker Device is capable of analyzing and cracking all known digital security systems in a relatively short period of time. As such, it is the ultimate hacker tool and something of a computerized "weapon of mass destruction", considering it could bring entire stellar governments to their knees.

There are several theories as to how the Codebreaker Device is capable of breaking encryption and security protocols that should not be breakable in any space of time; these include some sort of network of Matrioshka Brains hidden somewhere in Mechanoid space, or the use of a super-advanced computer system that operates in several dimensions at once. Ultimately, the device remains a mystery.

Needless to say, several major starpowers are attempting to replicate this incredible device; most notably the Hemmoian Federation, the existence of which relies heavily on the security of computer networks. Even the hackers of the Democratic Hemmoian Republic, known to posses some of the most advanced computational technologies in the Galaxy, have admitted they cannot come close to the Codebreaker Device's performance.
