Gracilibacillus XI

The Emperor of the Bacterian Empire at the time of their arrival at the Alpha Quadrant. Known as one of the most expansionistic rulers of the Empire, he reached this position by conquering not only a large majority of the Bacterian Home Galaxy, but also almost a quadrant's worth in the Milky Way. Gracilibacillus XI was known for his attempts to retake several central sections of the Bacterian Home Galaxy, fighting a bloody war against the 'barbarian hordes'.

The Grim Expurgation

Gracilibacillus XI led the Grim Expurgation to take back the Heart of Typhared region from the barbarian hordes in the Tarantula Nebula. The 1st Imperial Elite Fleet Sword of the Emperor was under his direct command in this campaign, from aboard the personal flagship BES Harmony of Dissonance.

He died in battle among his ambushed strike fleet, and his last wish was that he was not to be cloned again, as was common practice among the Bacterians.

Search for Heir

Gracilibacillus also had no direct heir, and thus the Bacterian Empire was left in turmoil, leaderless during a conquest on multiple fronts. The Ministry of Ceremonies was tasked with finding a successor from an Imperial bloodline.

It was these events that allowed the young half-breed, Paavo Bakteeri, to rise into an emperor, as the Court of Bacterium found out her mother had imperial roots, and thus her son was deemed the next heir to the throne.
