Court of Bacterium
The Court of Bacterium, also known as the Imperial Court, is the ruling body of the Bacterian Empire. The court convenes on the planet Bacterius; it may be the Bacterian Home Galaxy has a similar, separate court.
Although the Court is the nominal head of the entire Empire, in many cases true power can often be in the hands of the various Warmasters, Fleetlords and other military leaders.

Structure
The Court and its subsidiary ministries handle all secular administrative affairs of the Empire, while the Great Temple of Bacterion oversees all matters regarding ritual, clergy, and shrines.
As such, the Imperial Court is filled with princes, aristocrats from various Noble Houses, domain lords, and warriors.
Ministry of Central Affairs

The Central Affairs Ministry is the governmental agency for matters most closely pertaining to the Emperor. The officials of this Ministry will perform attendant duties and will relay to the Emperor military matters and orders, be present at military reviews in his name and accompany him to formal ceremonies and interviews.
Officials of this ministry include the Keeper of the Empire's Sword and the Keeper of the Empire's Shield, the Great Counselor and the High Chancellor of the Realm.
Ministry of the Public

This ministry collects and maintains biographical archives of meritorious subjects. The chief officer of this ministry is known as the Chief Minister of Public Instruction. This office is ordinarily filled by a son or close relative of the Emperor. Two of the offices which are deemed to fit in this "civil services" context are the Imperial Court's Chief Judge and the Emperor's chief education expert.
Ministry of Ceremonies

This ministry is concerned with ceremonial matters and diplomacy, and to oversee the maintenance of Imperial tombs and mausoleums. This ministry was also responsible for rules for noble families. Its chief officer is the Chief Minister of Ceremonies.
Ministry of Colonies
This ministry is concerned with the general populace, with police activities, and with planetary survey records. Registries for all colonies and outposts are maintained, including census records as well as birth and death records.

History
Origin
Relocation to Bacterius
Anecdotal evidence suggests that the Court was moved from the Bacterian Home Galaxy to Bacterius in the Gamma Quadrant of the Milky Way Galaxy by an unknown Emperor approximately 2500 years ago (around the Hemmoian year 1,1000).
Namgron Era
Within months after Emperor Namgron took his oath, the ancient structure was slightly modified with an express focus on the separation of legislative, administrative, and judicial functions within the Court system. The evolution of a deliberative body within a modern constitutional system was gradual, and it's constituent differences from the old Imperial Court were not entirely self-evident at first.
