United Orcs Government
The United Orcs Government, commonly referred to as UO Government (UOG) was the central government of the United Orcs.
The Government was led by the High Representative. The High Representative and the most senior Ministers belong to the supreme decision-making committee, known as the Cabinet. The Government Ministers are all members of the United Orcs Commission, and are accountable to it. The Government is dependent on the Commission to make primary legislation, which means that in practice a government must seek re-election at least every five years. The monarch selects as Prime Minister the leader of the party most likely to command a majority in the Commission.
Relationship with the Orceronian Ruling Court
Under the uncodified constitution of the Orcish Community established on Orceron, ultimate executive authority lied with the monarch family and the Orceronian Ruling Court, although this authority was exercised only by, or on the advice of, the High Representative and the Cabinet. The Cabinet members advised the monarch as members of the Privy Council. They also exercised power directly as leaders of the Government Departments.
When the King and Queen of Orceron were lost in the Great Cataclysm of Orceron, the royal family became more of a customary figurehead.
