The Valencia Mk.I class Medium Cruiser is a ship design of the Gigerdi Alliance. It uses a similar semi-organic hull design as its' bigger brother, the Valencia Mk.II class does. The Mk.I is, however, smaller than the Mk.II and many of its' defensive and offensive capabilities have been kept closely under wraps ever since the vessel was introduced as a part of the fleet.
The Valencia Mk.I was designed months prior to the start of the Hemmoian Civil War. Already a large number of Mk.II Valencia Cruisers had entered service, but for one reason or the other, the Mk.I and its' completion as a design project had not been publiziced as much as the Mk.II had. The galactic defense community have, however, reached the conclusion several times that the Mk.I is more used as a test platform for newer or more secret weapon systems than a normal starship used for defense and patrolling.
There have been sightings of at least three Valencia Mk.I's on the battlefield so far, and the one that has been seen the most is the Akira.
Also, the Mk.I Valencia does not need a crew to operate the ship, because it is equipped with a central computer linked to the so-called brain of the ship.
