A union spanning the entire species known as the Gigerdians, the Gigerdi Alliance is one of the three major starpowers in the Galaxy, along with the Hemmoian Federation and the Bacterian Empire. Measured by size, the GA is the supreme single political power in the Milky Way galaxy.

History

Government

Government Type: Federal Republic (Federal Alliance).

A president leads the Gigerdi Alliance; along with him is a large senate of about 2500 members that decide on all other decisions that don't concern the President's authority. The Senate is composed of two representatives from each member state or Colony world that the GA has. The Senate elections are held every two years; two members are elected from each state by popular vote to serve six-year terms.

The president is both the chief of state and head of government; president and vice president are elected on the same ticket by the Gigerdi Alliance citizens, all citizens are allowed to vote; president and vice president serve six-year terms.

Chief Of State: President Armand Y. Marick (since January, 2, 3364) and Vice-President Frenton B. Dagget (since January, 2, 3364). (Note: The President is both chief of state and head of government)

Judicial Branch: Supreme Court (Its nine justices are appointed for life by the president with confirmation by the Senate); Gigerdi Alliance Courts of Appeal; Gigerdi Alliance District Courts; State and County Courts.

Political Parties And Leaders: Liberal Democratic Party (Marden Kerlon, national committee chairman); Republican Party (Ovan S. Welken, national committee chairman); Green Party; several other groups or parties of minor political significance.

The Official Name: The Gigerdi Alliance Military.

Headquarters: The GA Military HQ/Academy, Gigerdi Prime. Several other major bases located in Tarxis IV, Ivor prime, Meduun 7, Konor Minor, and Adlek.

Commander Of Forces: The current head of state (President Marick), second in command is Grand Admiral Erwin Lerev, several branches are commanded by the President and the Joint chiefs of staff.

Forces Size: Enlisted troops 18,9 billion, Colonial militia 3,5 billion, various other militias 1,6 billion.

Service Branches: The Gigerdi Alliance Military Fleet Force (GAMFF), the Gigerdi Alliance Military Ground Forces (GAMGF) (also known as the Clone Infantry), The Gigerdi Alliance Colonial Defense Forces (GACDF).

The GA ground forces have several tasks in the GA military operational branches. Whatever their secondary tasks in operations might be, their main task is always to handle the hands-on combat of planetary and boarding operations. The Ground forces operate at conjunction with the Fleet, tasked with the defense of defending crucial planetary installations; they also have large invasion capabilities.

The Officer corps for the Ground forces is a lot more "Elitist" in nature, needing better training in tactical combat and planetary invasions. Mostly, the GF commanders run the Ground operation from the orbiting fleet, or from hover craft from the planets surface. The GF commanders run the operation trough "Neurological implants" that make the commanders able to command whole platoons trough the "Neurological Matrix".

The Ground forces troopers or Soldiers are called The Clone infantry. The Clone infantry consists of Cloned Gigerdian bodies that have been implanted with heavy weapons and armor. The Cloned bodies have been programmed to follow orders from the Neurological implants in their brains, they are fanatical to the GF generals orders. The Clone infantry has some smaller Planetary tanks and hover craft that they use in their operations to support infantry. The Command hierarchy of the GF forces is similar to the fleet.

Sometimes, the Clone infantry can be used as Law enforcement or Riot control units; they have been programmed on all areas of Crowd control and planetary operations. The Clone infantry has several "Classes" that can be used in various missions, from Light infantry to Heavy.

Research And Exploration

Gigerdi Alliance's R&E was controlled completly by the military few years ago, but it was made as a more "independent" part of the Gigerdi Alliance. GA's R&E researches new technology, studies alien artifacts, alien texts, explores unexplored territories and studies alien planets. Currently R&E is partially controlled by the military and GA government, but mostly the things inside R&E are decided by the so called Gigerdi Alliance senate committee of R&E.

The committee consists of one representive from every area of the R&E (Exploration, research, alien artifacts, etc.). There's also few main leaders who then lead this committee. The committee gathers only once in month, but sometimes it may be called to gather more. Every part of the R&E decides about its own affairs (Means that they decide the things they do), committee decides only some major matters.

GA's R&E's Headquarters are located on Gigerdi System, but many major facilities are located all over the GA's territory. R&E controls several science and exploration ships, which usually also have huge science areas. GA Military doesn't control science or exploration ships, only in emergency situations. GA R&E also has several science stations, which are usually located near some planets, nebulas or some other place which has some kind of scientific value.

Currently GA's R&E's main target is the Andromeda galaxy, which has the biggest amount of ships from the R&E. It doesn't have so much stations yet though.
