Insane Gigerdian Admirals
The term "Insane Gigerdian Admirals" refer to the senseless attack of the two Gigerdi Federation admirals, Marik Laras and Garl Gaston, against the Hemmoian Federation and the Gigerdi Confederation.These attacks took place shortly after the creation of the secondary Gigerdian state.
The reason for their attack was apparently incontent towards their own governments unwillingness to attack the Gigerdi Confederation and destroy it. Both of the admirals felt, that Mad Gigerdi was a weak leader who was unable to deal with the Gigerdi Confederation- issue, and thus had to be removed.
The admirals came up with a plan that would frame Mad Gigerdi as the original architect behind their own plans to attack the Hemmoians and the G-Confed: thus Mad Gigerdi would have to resign due to accusations of warmongering (towards the Hemmoians) and Kyle Gigerdi's faction could be taken care of as well.
Admiral Marik Laras assembled a small fleet of ships with him to attack the G-Confed's temporary control world of Merdan: meanwhile admiral Gaston attacked the Hemmoians on their own soil.
However, things didn't go quite the way these two admirals had concieved: after initial success in pushing through the unprepared Hemmoian defences, Gaston's forces were slowly surrounded and pinned down in a few selected systems. Admiral Laras also succeeded in driving the G-Confed out of Merdan during the Battle of Merdan, but what he didn't plan for, was a unified armada from both of the Gigerdian states hunting him down afterwards. A considerable amount of ships from both of the renegade admirals' fleets surrendered, since most of the commanding officers saw the futility of their attempts.
Both of the admirals died aboard their own flagships. The resulting situation saw the Hemmoians accusing the Gigerdi Federation of senseless attacks on its' soil, but luckily diplomatic efforts were able to convince the Hemmoians of the true state of things.
