The V3 starship Resolution (registry V3SS-800) was the flagship of the V3 Doomsday Fleet, which was supposed to wipe out Aldaain. Virtually indestructible, with extra-powerful shielding systems and high-quality weapons, it was simply referred to as the V3 Flagship in the UO.
The Resolution was always accompanied by V3 Support Ships and the V3 heavy cruiser Implacable. The Doomsday Fleet was controlled by the flagship, so by destroying it, the United Orcs would disable the whole Doomsday Fleet, or at least throw it into critical disarray. Orcish spies were on board the Flagship, and the United Orcs had placed a cloaked Orcish cruiser in the Doomsday Fleet.
Destruction
As the Doomsday Fleet entered the Orbeus system, the infiltrators managed to turn off the cloaking fields at a critical junction. Alerted to the threat, the UOSF responded by sending all available military starships to intercept the Doomsday Fleet, resulting in the battle known as the Final Defense of Aldaain.
A number of ships launched breaching pods full of space marines to attack the Flagship and disable key systems. Finally, UO forces were able to reach the massive starship's power core, sabotaging its coolant systems and causing a meltdown chain reaction.
The cloaked Orcish cruiser decloaked and started to disable other ships in the Doomsday Fleet with Ion Cannon blasts. In the end, the Doomsday Fleet was destroyed and the United Orcs scored one of their greatest victories against the V3.
