The Manxx class Dreadnought is a unique design of the Gigerdi Confederation. The only such vessel in operation is the Sanctuary 2, named after Emperor Kyle Gigerdi's personal ship Sanctuary 1. In common use the "2" was dropped from the name.

The ship was constructed by the Gigerdi Confederation after the Secession War. It took several years to complete, a joint project with the recently discovered Texian Hive and its discoverer, Kyle Gigerdi. A key aspect of the design was the hidden Heavy Pulse Cannon, an ultraheavy weapon system previously tested as a prototype in the Washington class. With the completion of the Manxx class, the new weapon was finally fully complete and ready to be deployed, and was used several times in the following conflicts.

After the signing of the treaty which founded the GA, the Sanctuary was placed as the secondary flagship of the Gigerdi Alliance military along with the Peace class Destroyer, which was the first flagship.

Weapons

The Manxx has a secret weapon up its sleeve; 2 warp nacelles at the back of the ship were the completed version of the Heavy Pulse Cannon, an ultraheavy weapons system which fired a beam that could rip through nine ships at once.

The design also features several decks for fighters and carries several dozens of squadrons.

Bridge

The bridge section of the ship was in the front, seemingly exposed, but was heavily protected by armor, weaponry, and shields. The only setback was that the ship had no auxiliary bridge against the possibility of a bridge knockout. To this end, an auxiliary bridge was later constructed in the main engineering section after the Raider Wars of 3356.

Past and possible future

The Sanctuary has been at the dry dock twice, it was used by rebel leader Nix Balmorra to save Gigerdi Prime from destruction by system killers, which was the first time it had to stay on dock. The second time was after the Lightness War when it was attacked by lightness cruisers just after the initial signing of the peace treaty with the Lightness. Still being repaired by the damage of the Lightness War, only time will tell if the damage can be repaired.

Recently, Senator Dolux of the Gigerdi Alliance senate informed the Office of Warfare that there might be a new Manxx class Dreadnought constructed, but there were several responses from President Dalleer himself telling that there are no plans for a new Manxx class being made.
