Interstellar Phonetic Alphabet
The Interstellar Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) is the system used to accurately and uniformly distinguish between all the sounds in all languages of the United Commonwealth of Planets. Although originally based on Human Standard, it is constantly under development to accurately represent the wide range of various languages from other UCP members, such as the B², Vemrers,V'As'Ta'R, Q<RE-Ô, 1110110110101111, Lihters, Opiros, Dands, HierosQ, and even neighboring civilizations such as the Gigerdians.
The alphabet has grown exponentially from its original human incarnation. Particularly, the complexity of the Q<RE-Ô languages have forced the IPA to adopt a large number of previously unused symbols to denote previously unknown sounds. Special signs have also been adopted to mark the unique pronunciation of the 1110110110101111 binary language.
